About

Feminism and cupcakes. I'm sure if I tried hard enough I could come up with a theory about how they're practically the same thing, but they're really not, I just love both of them. Pink and sparkly is not antithetical to feminism and it's perfectly possible to be a feminine feminist. Feminism (for me anyway) is about the freedom to choose what to do with your life without your gender restricting those choices. It isn't about hating men - I'm married and have two young sons so hating men would make life pretty miserable - and the hairy legs are entirely up to you.

There are a few other things that I'm passionate about that will probably crop up from time to time. I will probably talk about politics occasionally (from a very liberal viewpoint so you have been warned), and various social justice issues like racism, homophobia, transphobia and ableism. As I will be speaking from the position of being white, cisgendered and able-bodied (albeit with mental health problems) I would really appreciate being called out on it if I fuck up on any of these issues. And obviously there will be the occasional profanity, because life isn't as fun without a fuck in it sometimes.

  1. Really glad I found you via Woman's Hour. I'm a mum of two young boys (6&8) too and also am a feminist who loves glitter and fairies. Look forward to reading more and getting to know you.
